A wedding is somethimg that you take pride and joy in having. To spend countless hours planning a wedding and not to have your significant other show up is a disgrace. But whats even worse is for you to go and marry him anyway. If he bails out on you for drama, just think what hell do when times get rough.

A correction should be noted here. The groom of the "Left at the Alter" episode did not take the $1500. The daughter did. Anita the mother suspected and the daughter Christina confirmed it and the aunt pulled the envelope with the money out of her blouse on camera. Dion is definitely no overwhelming gem but he didn't take the money!

1. I don't think they are trying to make herpes look exciting and fun. I think what they are trying to do for those that actually have the virus is to show them that you can lead a normal, happy, fun and exciting life in spite of having herpes. Many people believe that having herpes is the end of their life so-to-speak so this is just a way to show the flip side and that life can go on. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. If you've ever been diagnosed with herpes then you would see that initially the diagnosis can be quite devastating, especially if you don't know anything about herpes.

2. They are just letting you know that the studies didn't include homosexuals. Believe it or not homosexual couples do have sex and can contract herpes. I thought it was very responsible to show that the clinical studies only included heterosexual couples. That might be because only heterosexual couples signed up for the study.

I agree that this issue with Mariane Pearl is complicated by her choice of Jolie (and her unique ethnic makeup), but the case of Sgt. Thomas is pretty egregious. What reason is there to take a role model from one race and homogenized him by making him white?

One of the amazing things to see in the face of such a tragedy was the coming together of people of different races, backgrounds, etc. to help each other unconditionally. Casting moves like this strip the moment of one of its most powerful aspects.
