Wait, What?

July 7, 2011

That’s what I found myself saying A LOT this week.  That and “sigh… really?  Again with the sad sack woe is me?” I felt like most of this week’s show was filler. I’m not sure for what but nothing really major happened.  A few things could have been major but were swept under the rug as per usual under the current management regime. Tucker, fresh from his coma with all his hair still in tack, asked why Abby tried to kill him. My ears perked up.  Yeah Tucker was going to bring his no nonsense self to the game so Abby’s secret could come out.  Oh wait, no just kidding.  Ash decided to down play and attempt to sweep under the rug all that had happened.  Can I just say that I really hope there aren’t a lot of parents like Ashley and Victor out there.  What good are they doing by covering this up for Abby?  Either she will self-destruct more than ever because of her guilt or she will learn that this is her privilege and therefore be a bigger terror than ever.  Notice how neither of those solutions includes changing her life for the better?  The sense of entitlement Victor feels is common, but what shocked me was Ashley’s hit or miss value system.  She spends lifetimes lecturing Jack on “playing fair” and doing things legally then as soon as she and Tucker are together she’s playing dirty and doing the very things she’s lectured Jack against.  Now she’s gone so far as to lie about a SERIOUS accident to keep Abby out of trouble.  Remember when Ashley went to visit Sharon at the jail and questioned Sharon’s complete and total lack of judgment?  Right back atcha Ash.  Sigh…

Saint Phyllis rises once again from the ashes of her own doing.  Ugh… this chick needs an a** whooping.  NOW!  She is already back to her smug and nasty self.  She spent the week “woe-is-meing” about choices SHE made.  Then she complained to Nick.  Why he listened is beyond me.  Then there’s Jack.  Why oh why is Jack giving her the time of day?  She has repeatedly used him to pass the time until she can get back to Nick or get whatever she wants elsewhere.  Ugh…

Then what happened to the whole Neil/Sophia/Malcolm reveal?  They dropped the bomb the previous week and then what?  (insert crickets here) Nothing!  The entire week NOTHING was mentioned, alluded to, or even thought of.  Who does that?  Do the writers not think we are interested in the fallout?  I want to know what happened.  The storyline is a two-bit rip off of the original story (which was beautifully done), but I STILL WANT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS!  Come on!  And Tucker is awake so where is Sofia?  She would have been there in minutes to see her friend/boss/father figure.  It’s so insulting to viewers to just ignore a chunk of the shows population.

You know I felt bad for Victoria when she lost Lucy.  She truly was one of the innocents in the whole situation. But now, she’s reverted into that spoiled little daddy’s girl brat and I can’t stand it.  She’s been moping around and whining and instead of trying to process what has happened she instead ran back to her dad and her old life.  It’s INSANE.  If I were a Newman investor, I wouldn’t want her back. I’d demand she pay restitution to the stockholders if she did if fact want to come back.  All of the people who lost their jobs should sue her.  What was all of that for?  Apparently nothing.  Nice work Victoria.

Honorable mentions go to Jack for calling Phyllis out on ruining yet another marriage and Genevieve for being just delightful anytime she’s in Jack’s orbit.  They are one of few bright spots on the show these days.
